Warranties and Legal Stuff
Longbow Motorcycles LLC is a licensed international motorcycle
manufacturer meaning our production bikes are EPA approved* and
have vehicle identification stickers on the right down tube by the
neck- with 17 digit VIN numbers. You get an MSO from Longbow
Motorcycles LLC from which you get your title.
All frames have 17 digit serial numbers on the necks meaning the
manufacturer is licensed and carries liability insurance. You receive
an MSO from Rolling Thunder Frames Inc.
WARRANTIES
All warranties supplied by the Manufacturer of the part used on
our production bikes, are transferred to the buyer, with an extended
warranty available in some cases, from Longbow Motorcycles LLC.
For example, Harley Davidson warranties their crate motors for one
year; if you upgrade your ignition module to a Thundermax so we
can install break in and overall rev limits, then Longbow Motorcycles
will warranty the motor for a second year. Extended service contracts
can be purchased for protection up to 3 years.
A Chopper (example) with a TP 121 (2yr warranty) and a trikshift
trans (five year warranty) have those warranties transfer to the buyer-
with no extension by Longbow Motorcycles LLC. S&S motor = their
warranty, Baker trans = their warranty, etc. Our electrics are HD and
Wire Plus on production bikes and Spyke and Wire Plus on customs.
All have factory warranties. Complete part lists are supplied with each
bike, listing manufacturer and part number so warranties as well as
replacements are easily accessed. Any questions- call us.
DISCLAIMER
Longbow Motorcycles LLC and Dramatic Motorcycle Design LLC are not
affiliated in any way with Harley Davidson Motorcycle Co. Milwaukee, Wisconsin; so
when we use these following trademarked (by Harley) terms they are for
comparison only. Harley Davidson, HD H.D., H-D, Deuce, Softail,Fatboy, FX,FXST,
Roadglide, Wide Glide, Screaming Eagle, Twin Cam, Twin Cam B, Heritage
Springer, Heritage Classic, and a bunch more. We build bikes with HD motors and
transmissions, OEM and OEM replacement parts so our clients can have a sense of
reliability and an ease of maintenance and replacement, not so anyone will confuse
little old us for "The Motor Co" (that one might be trademarked too).
* In July of 2006, the EPA ruled that a "custom motorcycle" built
with an EPA certified engine package, that meets vehicle weight and
gearing requirements is street legal- and we can build 2999 per year.
By using HD motors/trans, EFI and stock exhaust, coupled with our
compliance with NHTSA regs and our VIN numbers- our clients are
assured of hassle free licensing and future resale. Having said all
that, California has CARB, to which our bikes DO NOT conform
(charcoal canisters etc). But we are 49 state certified.
